Overnight Oatmeal

I love a quick breakfast especially since I am lazy in the morning and hate cleaning up after making breakfast! I found a recipe for refrigerator oatmeal, tweaked it a little and thought I would give it a try. I'm not going to lie, most of the ingredients I did not have in my home and not only that, I would never buy them to eat either! The best part is that I can prep these Sunday night and have breakfast all week just ready to pick up and go. I usually only make 3 at a time because eating the same thing day after day gets too boring. (Geeze maybe I am picky! Haha) So I hope you enjoy this tasty recipe and let me know if you have other yummy suggestions or ideas for these overnight oats.

What you need:

Mason jars-any brand will do. You could probably use plastic, but I don't.

1/3 cup old fashion oats (not quick cooking) I use Gluten free

1/3-1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk ( I like 1/2 cup so it is not too thick)

1 individual container of plain greek yogurt. I like Chobani. Any brand will do.

1 tsp honey

1 Tbsp almond butter

1 tsp chia seeds

1/2 cup cherries, strawberries, blueberries or whatever fruit suits you!

You can either mix these all together in a bowl then add to the mason jar, but who wants another mess to clean up? Just lay out your clean jars in a row and add the ingredients to each jar as you go layering them in the order of the ingredients list. Easy! This comes with a friendly warning from me: If you have issues with texture, just give it a few bites before you decide you do not like it. Trust me, I was there.

Now once morning comes, you just get a jar out, pour it into a bowl and eat or just eat it right out of the jar. I like mine cold. Enjoy!
