Gordmans Back to School Shopping- No Kid Hungry Campaign

Back to school… 3 little words that are supposed to be a parent’s relief. Unfortunately, those 3 words are not a relief to 13 million children in the U.S. who struggle with hunger. In the summertime, 6 out of 7 hungry kids do not get the meals they need and while in school, lunch is sometimes their last meal of the day. Oh what a wonderful world we live in that we get to give back and possibly help these numbers improve. I have partnered with Gormans to tell you how you all can help.

Gordmans is partnering with No Kid Hungry to help make sure no kid goes hungry any time of the year, not just back to school time. From July 21 to August 31, post a photo on your Instagram feed using the hashtag #FuelKidsFutures and Gordmans will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry. (**Up to $10,000)

Anyone else’s child unicorn obsessed? Trust me they have plenty of inventory to shop from with unicorns on chairs, bows, and of course backpacks!

Gordmans is an off-price retailer which means they buy excess inventory and that allows you, the buyer, to shop reduced prices everyday. I think you will be greatly surprised to see how many brands you can identify all in ONE location. Hint Hint…this makes any kind of shopping super easy and convenient.

Gordmans Grand Opening Event

YEAH!!! Our local Gordmans is open and it’s so nice! Gordmans recently opened 38 new locations around the country. We had a blast this morning shopping, running into other fellow bloggers and meeting new & existing followers! We were one of the first 100 shoppers through the door so we received a $5 coupon and the coolest insulated tote as promised!

I love how the store is set up, making it very easy to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for…and maybe finding more than what you are looking, for like we did.

We also found Callaway golf shirts for men under $30…hello Father’s Day gifts! Trust me when I say there is something for everyone in this store, including your fur babies.

I did manage to snag a new pair of sunnies….wait for it….under $4! Rowan and I had fun trying on these fun sunnies and looking through all of the toys and kids accessories. The outdoor selection is one of the best including pool floats, towels, outdoor games, and more!

Of course we brought home a few new Jojo bows for Rowan to add to her collection!

Spring cleaning and organizing anyone? Looking to spruce up your closet? These are the best hangers and they come in several colors and only $9.99. Even just by switching out the hangers and making it uniform in color will turn the look of your closet around! I use the black ones.

Y’all know I love my workouts and lattes! Fitting top right? Haha of course I needed a unicorn mug to go with my latte shirt because somedays as a stay at home/working mom, I could use unicorn powers! Am I right??

Heart Healthy with Gordmans ❤️

Part of my job as a blogger is to empower other women to feel comfortable in their own skin and clothing. Fashion is obviously a big part of my life and it really is true that you are what you wear! Rowan was so happy to pick out her “workout” outfit (pictured below). Heart healthy behaviors start at any age. Get your kids involved and watch them influence their peers as well. It is always a challenge in our home to see how much weight she can lift and how many times and I bet if she had a younger sibling we would have some friendly competitions! Haha If you notice she starts at 2 lbs. ☺️ Get your family moving together!

Did you know that a balanced eating regimen with foods from all five food groups is key to preventing disease? My nursing background helps me to understand how to keep my family healthy by cooking meals at home, plus with a child it is just plain easier. When you are in charge of the ingredients, you tend to put more thought into what you are feeding your families. I challenge you to cook one more meal a week at home. Set a goal for yourself!

Being heart healthy doesn’t have to be just consuming healthy foods. I have started off this 2019 year by reading a daily devotional with my morning coffee. It allows me to meditate and relax my mind, freeing it from the anxiety of every day life. Do you take time for yourself throughout the day? If so, what do you do?

So many of you and your loved ones have been affected by heart disease, and I am hopeful that by continuing to bring awareness to to it, we can start to change lives and perspectives on how to live a heart healthy life!
