Chocolate Lava Cakes
/This is my all time favorite dessert to make and my family swears I make it better than most resturants....except Flemings. They know how to do lava cake! I thought since Valentine's Day is approaching and the stores already have Easter things out, why not post it now so you can perfect it before you share it with your loves! It is really quite simple to make and even easier to consume. Hope you enjoy as much as we do! Ingredients:
4 squares Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1 cup powdered sugar 2 eggs 2 egg yolks 6 Tbsp flour Whipped cream or ice cream for serving
Directions:
1.) Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter the inside of 4 custard cups or souffle dishes. Place on baking sheet/jelly roll pan. ( I got my dishes at Williams Sonoma)
2.) Microwave chocolate and butter in a large bowl on high for 1 minute or until butter is melted. Stir with wire whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Whisk in powdered sugar until well blended. Next, whisk in eggs and egg yolks. Lastly, stir in flour. Divide batter among the prepared custard cups.
3.) Bake 13-14 minutes or until sides are firm and center is slightly soft. (Shake the pan to see if center is jiggly.) Carefully run a knife around the cakes to loosen, invert cakes onto dessert dishes. Serve warm!
I usually half this recipe and just make 2 cakes! Perfect ending to a great meal.
