Olive Tap

I have told you all my love for the Olive Tap locally here in Ankeny, Iowa??? If you are not local, no worries, you are in luck as they are available online too or you can check their website to see where they have other store locations, as one could be near you!! I have teamed up with my local Olive Tap store to bring you some recipes and ideas on how to use the products and trust me, you will not be disappointed! And as a little extra love, they have graciously offered my readers and followers a 10% discount to shop! Just show them this post or my IG photo ☺️ (Please know that I only write about and endorse products that I genuinely use and love) I want you to know that you do not have to be a gourmet chef to use these oils! I am no chef but I promise you will look like one! Haha My husband's request for his birthday dinner was potatoes, steak and brussel sprouts! Easy enough. My local grocery store, HyVee, has these ready prepped sides and one of my favorites is the brussel spouts. It comes with a side of real bacon bits and blue cheese!! It is a total win because you can also use the blue cheese on your steak! What does this have to do with oil? Well, everything! That is how you get flavor and color!

Steak for the grill:

Drizzle with truffle oil or butter oil

Add 1 tsp minced garlic to top of steak ( I add a ton as you can see ☺️)

Salt and pepper to taste

(I also love a dash of smoked paprika)

Brussel Sprouts:

I use garlic, lemon or butter oil, add 2 Tbsp of your oil of choice to the pan

add bacon (optional)

salt and pepper to taste

Sauté until tender.

***Steak and brussel sprouts go great with a finishing drizzle of balsamic vinegar of your choice too

Sweet Potatoes:

I love the pre-cut ones from Target, Archer Farms brand that you can steam in the bag. I buy these for connivence and cut the bag open and roast them! I love them roasted soooo much better!

Add 1 Tbsp natural buttery oil

Add 1 Tbsp coconut oil

salt and pepper to taste

Roast at 425 degrees for 30-45 minutes until golden brown. NOTE** If you use convection setting on your oven, only roast or bake half your allotted time! I learned that the hard way.

Not a fan of sweet potatoes? Don't worry! You can take Yukon potatoes or Russet potatoes and cut into spears for "fries". Drizzle with truffle oil, coat and then sprinkle on a little parmesan cheese and roast in the oven at 425 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown. Voila!

For you salmon lovers, my favorite way to cook it is to use the lemon olive oil. Grab a jelly roll pan or baking sheet, cover it with foil, and put salmon on one side of the pan and asparagus spears on the other. Drizzle all with lemon oil, salt and pepper and then I add lemon pepper seasoning to the fish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes! Super easy, healthy dinner with an even easier clean up!

Lastly, my favorite way to use the natural buttery oil is to make homemade popcorn with it! Such a fun thing to do with my toddler as she loves to watch it pop and I love to eat it! Haha

Now just because I only have used the olive oils, doesn't mean that is all this store carries. They have a nice selection of balsamic vinegars and seasonings too that I can't wait to try!

Need a gift? They have you covered too! Of course they do.
